May The Odds Be Ever In Your Favor

Hello all, and Happy Hunger Games! Did you see the movie? I sure did. It was great, and I definitely recommend it, but read the book first mmkay? Anyway, in honor of the movies opening day I have decided to post the Hunger Games shoot I've been telling you about.
In case you haven't been following, my friend Dani Smith, and I entered our skills into a Hunger Games photo contest for her hair school. She did the hair and makeup and I did the photos. Although we didn't win the popularity aspect of the contest, we did get chosen as one of the three judges favorites. Which I would much rather have us win than popularity. That means Dani has got pure skill, and I will be working with her on more themed shoots in the future.
Lastly, I would like to thank all those of you who actually did vote. We appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts, and you're great.

Once upon a time, my friend Danielle and I set out to do a little project. Danielle is in hair school, and is quite fabulous at what she does. We've been thinking about teaming up for a while, but hadn't gone further than that. One day she text me and asked if I would be interested in helping her out with a contest her school was having. Everyone was challenged to do hair and make up on a model impersonating the Hunger Games, and photograph them. The person with the most likes would win the contest. I was all for it, so a few weeks ago we made it happen. It's not likely that we will win the contest any more, but we sure did get close. I'm really happy with the out come of these photos. I will post the full shoot as soon as I can but for now here are the shots we used for the contest.

I've been working really hard lately to get ring photographs down, because in the past I haven't had such great luck. That's pure honesty right there.  I can see how far I have come even since August, and it is such a wonderful feeling.
