Kaylees Birth Story

On Wednesday January 25, my aunt Alicia went in to have an amnio test to see if she could have her baby that day. She had quite the pregnancy, full of more than her share of hospital visits, not to mention finding out she might have diabetes all the time, not just during pregnancy. I don't even want to  imagine how rough this pregnancy was, but I know she would tell you it was all completely worth it. My uncle Matt, and Alicia have had three boys, and thought they were done after the third boy was born. Then they found out they were pregnant again, and they were really crossing their fingers that it was a girl, and guess what? It was.
Alicia couldn't have been more excited, you should have seen her opening her pink baby gifts at her baby shower. She was so ecstatic and in tears even.
I made sure to get work off that day just in case she was able to have her baby. Matt, and Alicia were gracious enough to allow me in to the delivery room, even though no one else had ever been in there before. It was really an honor and privilege to be there with them.
Anyway, they found out that morning that they would be able to have their little girl that day, and then the long labor process began. They found out about 8 am, and then waited for the rest of the day for Alicia to progress. I stayed on call that day, making sure I would be ready when the time came. At about 11 pm, I got the call to come down to the hospital because Alicia was almost ready.
Is it strange to say as I got there I was so excited I was shaking? I had no idea why, but I love the medical field, and I love photography, and I guess being able to witness my first birth, and then take photos of this, I couldn't contain my excitement.
When I got there Alicia had an oxygen mask on because they said that the baby needed to be getting more oxygen. She was so cute trying to talk to me with the mask on.

They obviously had been waiting all day and had hunkered down with books, treats, and the lap top.

My uncle Matt was so incredibly sweet to my aunt as they waited patiently for their little girl.

It was about "go" time and Alicia gave me a thumbs up.

Soon the nurse came in and declared it was time to start pushing. (So I took a picture of the time.)

Not too long after that Makayla (Kaylee) was born!

And can I just say it was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen or witnessed in my life.

How tender is it that she was so over joyed and in tears that she finally was able to hold her baby girl after all this time. I couldn't help but cry myself.

Most of these shots are candid. Actually a very good majority of them are. I didn't really want posed photos, because I wanted to capture all of the real moments happening.

Kaylee was one chunk of a baby weighing nine pounds twelve ounces!

Isn't she such a precious, and beautiful daughter of God?

Because of the candid moments some of the pictures had some blurs, but I think that they make them more real.

It was so sweet seeing them with their baby girl.

My heart completely melted when I saw her open her eyes for the first time to see her parents smiling down at her.

This was Matt holding her for the first time.

It was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had, and I hope to be able to do many more of these. I definitely think this is my new absolute favorite form of photography.

Makayla Birth Story Preview

This was my first ever birth story, and I sure hope it won't be my last. It was one of the greatest experiences I've ever had. I love medical stuff, and I love photography, so it meshed so well. Not only that but it was my first time seeing a live birth, and can I just say it was so beautiful. I can't wait to post the rest of these photos on here!

Angie & Ryker

This is my beautiful aunt and her son Ryker. They are seriously the cutest mom and son I have ever seen. We had so much fun finding places to take the photos, and I loved all the different out fits and themes that she brought for Ryker to wear.

Jake & Jenessa Full Post

It's taken me way too long to post this, but here is the full post of some of my two favorite people. This is my cousin Jenessa and her husband Jake. They are so fun and cute together, and I adore them a whole lot.
They were a blast to take photos of and I think they turned out great!

Oran's Headshots Re-Visited

I recently re-visited my husband's head shots. I only edited three originally, but as I went through the 74 or so photos I actually took I thought it might be fun to do a little editing on more. I really loved the results as well.
Anyway, here are the rest of the photos of my biggest supporter.

Goals

I have so many photos to post to this blog, and haven't found very much time. Between my day job, and my photography business it is hard to keep up with things like that. Don't worry I'll get better.
I have so many plans and dreams for the future, and since 2012 is right around the corner, I decided it is time to make some goals to reach this dream of mine.
I have loved photography since I was a little girl. I never thought I'd actually end up wanting to do it as a career choice though. It was probably the furthest thing from my mind. When I started actually doing photo shoots my senior year of high school, my love and passion for this grew more and more. Now I'm here light years away from where I was in high school, and I know that this is what I want to be doing. It's all just a matter of getting there.
So here are some goals I have for myself:
-Legalize the business
-Attain more props
-Have a legitimate website
-Raise my prices. I realize this goal may not sound good to some, but the raise wouldn't be very much. I need to raise them though if I want this to be worth the amount of time I put into it. I put so much time and love into my photography, and only those who are photographers could really know how much time is put into a photo shoot.
-Have custom CD cases for all of your images
-Be able to go to bridal fairs
-Give you a video with music to all images (this is mostly for couples, weddings, etc.)
-Master my new Photo Shop Elements
-Purchase more lenses(this one might take the longest to achieve)
-Put out adds

I'm sure there will be more that I will think of, but for now this looks good. I'm so inspired, and ready to start this dream of mine. It may be strange to all of you that I put down these goals on the blog, but I put them to show you how hard I'm willing to work to get to where I want to be.
I may not be the girl who has ever had a significant amount of self confidence, but with this I believe in myself. I think that is one of the first steps to reaching your dreams; believing in yourself.
So whether you want to do photography, be a professional dancer, football player, or doctor, the first thing you need is to believe in yourself.
I'm ready.
